They first met back in 2015 while working in the graduate program at the Department of the Environment in Canberra. What started as a friendship grew stronger over the years, eventually turning into a relationship in 2020. In 2024, they took the next step and moved together to Melbourne, building a life side by side.

David proposed around Easter in 2025 during a romantic road trip along the iconic Great Ocean Road — the perfect setting for such a special moment.
